If you want to be able to receive LJ messages, here's what you do:

1. Go HERE (http://www.livejournal.com/manage/profile/)

2. Under the heading of 'Contact Info' the thrid option down is 'LJ messagin'.

3. Use the drop-down menu next to it to choose who you'd like messaages from (I have mine set to 'all registered users').

4. All done.
