Yes of course that's fine - if you feel unable to meet the deadline then it's totally okay for you to drop out, whether you're accepted for the other challenge or not.

If you want to be able to receive LJ messages, here's what you do:

1. Go HERE (http://www.livejournal.com/manage/profile/)

2. Under the heading of 'Contact Info' the thrid option down is 'LJ messagin'.

3. Use the drop-down menu next to it to choose who you'd like messaages from (I have mine set to 'all registered users').

4. All done.

So a few months ago that I stumbled to your Death Note fics, which I loved so very very much. And recently I read some of your Nabari no Ou fics (which are lovely I may add) and I want to read some more, but your journal is f-locked so I ended up here >.<

Oh, I'm glad you remembered my comments ^^ I was always impressed by the fact you could write so beautifully and so uniquely, if I'm honest. Oh, I just added tierfal after lurking on her journal for a long time, and she's been very nice to me so far. I'm trying to be brave and befriend people instead of admiring them from afar at the moment XD
